MISSIONS & MINISTRY UPDATE: April 12, 2013
Tonight I wept in front of my entire youth group after preaching on dating from the Bible. I wasn't planning on it, but when I shared my testimony at the end of my message about my past relationships, valleys, trials, and how God was there for me through it all I couldn't hold back the tears. (Some of the girls started crying too. I told all the girls that guys have hearts too, we have hopes and dreams also.) Two of the teenage guys that I help pastor actually came up and hugged me while I was still at the front, it was really loving of them and I felt really appreciated tonight from a lot of people. One of those young men recently came back to the Church after a season of rebellion and is now repentant and wants to follow after Jesus! Praise God! I prayed with him tonight and he asked for God's forgiveness. I had a five point sermon for my grade 8-12 students tonight and the five were; #1 The Lordship of Jesus Christ, #2 Prayer, #3 Church Community, #4 Christ-Like Character, & #5 Future Plans. All of this was happening while I was preaching with a broken heart and soar throat. My voice is almost gone, I pray I don't get sick. Thank you to everyone who prayed for me or was there for me tonight. God gives strength and grace to the humble and those who fear Him. May He be glorified in my life. :-)
Fusion youth remember that Jesus can love you more in a moment than other lovers can in a lifetime. Next week we will continue our survivor game theme and we will be talking about God's design for sexuality too.
